Evaluation Of Preliminary Task

Our second preliminary task flowed smoothly. Being our second time doing a preliminary task we felt more confident and as a result we managed to film, edit and upload our footage within one (1 and a half hour) lesson. First, we planned our task by creating and using a storyboard which we used as guidance throughout our filming. As we had already filmed using certain camera techniques such as match on action, 180 degree rule etc we had more experience and understanding of how to use these successfully. This meant we were much quicker at getting the filming done. We did not need to cut the first section of our footage because it already flowed naturally as a result of well planned acting, therefore it didn't take a long time to edit the footage.

When we edited the 180 degree conversation, unlike in our first preliminary task, we used over the shoulder shots which made the editing of the footage more complex and more ability-demanding. However, as we already had the knowledge from our first preliminary task, we were able to use this experience to make it more straightforward when we edited.

We felt that our group worked well together at organising who was going to take on a specific role (acting, editing, filming). Because of this, our group work was good as it meant that everything was done faster and more accurate, without any distractions or problems arising.
As we were from different groups originally, our group were able to use it's knowledge and experience that we had picked up from the first preliminary task to share with our group members making our work more developed, with a higher quality standard.
