The sound to the trailer of fight club is a non diegetic synthesized sound track which is bass orientated. towards the end it gathers more of a beat with a bongo type sound. about 2 minutes in it fades to the soundtrack 'Where is my mind?' by the pixies as the titles start and it shows more violent action packed scenes in time with the music. there is also diegetic noise created by the two main characters throughout.
Throughout the film the character played by Edward Norton narrates his own thoughts and feelings as if the microphone was inside his head. this creates a sense of being inside his mind and understanding the way he thinks. but by the end of the film that is thrown out of the window and he is seen in a whole different light.
In this scene the music cross fades from synthesized to a more bass orientated style. it matches the fight scene shown at this point in the trailer.
In this scene the music added bongos which quickened the pace of the film its followed about 20 seconds later by the soundtrack which shows scenes of all the action involved in the film.
editing: The trailer starts off half way through the movie and then gives us the story up to that point and when the music becomes more bass orientated the trailer carries on from the opening scene at the start of the trailer. The trailer ends with short bursts of the action packed sections which is coupled with the pace of the soundtrack. the editing is virtually all jump cuts from scene to scene. this fits with the pace of the music during the trailer. The first scene uses shot reverse shot where the editor has cut between two pieces of film filmed with 180 degree rule.

camera angles: during the Fight Club trailer almost all angles are shot at eye level. this forces the audience to identify with the characters. there is an establishing shot of the two main characters hitting golf balls out of their front yard. However it established nothing but what they are doing and where, as it is not at the very beginning of the film it isn't an opening shot and it isn't expressing the genre any more so than would've been discovered. it may however be setting the scene for the following part of the film. finally i noticed an over the shoulder shot when the character played by Edward Norton is looking through furniture magazines, the over the shoulder shot would suggest that the audience shouldn't associate themselves to this character at this point in the movie.
camera movement: The main camera movements i noticed during the trailer was mostly stationary work. so it was all very straight forward and to the point. there was a pan shot that followed Edward Norton part way around his living room when writing from catalogues pops up all round the screen corresponding with furniture in his home. There is also a quickened pan shot which starts at the TV screen and blurs around to Edward Norton laying on the couch. the quickened pace may be because at this time in the film he is talking about himself and a jump cut wouldn't give across the same oomph as a quickened pan as they are used almost continuously through the rest of the film.
Setting and location: There are many settings in Fight Club a few are shown in the trailer. a main setting is the house they make the soap in the same setting where the two main characters where shown hitting golf balls in their front yard. another is the basement 'Fight Club' is in which just screams illegal as its dingy, low lit and a basement. another setting is Edward Nortons flat which a little while into the film gets blown up, this is where he moves into the house talked above. there is also a setting behind/infront of somewhere that reminds me of a petrol station or sleezy motel of some kind. which is where the first scene of the trailer is set. I believe it was located in LA but im not 100% sure.
special effects: Near the end of the movie when Edward Norton and the main female character played by the women who plays Bellatrix Le Strange in the Harry Potter films, are standing in a building on a high floor and skyscrapers around them all start to explode and create massive explosions this would've been done using pyrotechnics which are also used for fake bombs, flames and the flash when a gun is fired.

(Analysis from 3:00 minutes onwards)
Sound: It starts off with non diagetic orchetsral music and a non diagetic narration from lead actor Tobey Maguire, the music then fades out and the narration takes over. Once Petere gets onto the bus there is a light orchetsral sound again completely non diagetic like normal this light, calm music helps us empaphise with the main charater as he is looked upon as a so called 'nerd' and is picked on this occurs about 4 minutes 10 seconds into the film. Once they are outside the science building there is completely diagetic noise from the surroundings e.g public transport and the public. After this point there is hardly any non diagetic music in the opening sequence just diagetic sound coming from the building such as the tour guide and the proffesors and the machines in the room. Then at 9 minutes when they realise one of the psiders is missing there is non diagetic music to tell the audience that something may happenbecause of that one escaped spider. After that towards the end of the scene when peter and mary jane are alone, some blissful orchestral music comes on it sounds allmost magical to show us that a relationship may blossom between the two but also to show us that peter loves her.
Editing: At The start of the movie the credits are embedded in spiderwebs in which seems to be a city to show us a little idea of what the movie is about. the first scene tracks down the bus showing a few of the people then cuts to the bus windmirror where you see our main character peter parker who no one really seems to like as i said earlier they think he is a so called 'nerd'. After the bus scene it cuts outside the science department where most of the students are gathered, it then cuts to the inside of the rolls royce to show another two main charaters harry osbourne and his father norman osbourne. In the car there are a few shot-reverse-shots when the conversation between harry and his father is taking place. There is another shot-reverse-shot when Peter is introduced to Norman Osbourne. It then cuts to the inside of the science department and tracks in front of peter and harry. Then a few times it jumps to the inside of the spider boxes and there are a few close ups of the tested spiders , it then cuts back to the tour guide, for a few seco nds and moves onto mary jane and peter there is s quick shot-reverse-shot of them both and then there is a medium shot of peter before he takes the picture, it quicky cuts to the spider moving down from his web onto peters hand, this is quickly followed by a close up of the spider when its bites Peters hand.
Setting and location : It starts with an establishing shot of downtown New York City, showing us a Scene of the railway , a bunch of roads and buildings and then the school bus where the first scene starts with peter parker, it thye changes to the outside of the NYC National Science Department which is where Peter gains his powers from being bitten in the main laboratory by a geneticly modified spider. In this room there is many science machines especially the massive electronic microscope in the centre of the room surrounded by many cases of modified spiders which is surrounded by high balconies and rooms.
Costumes and Props: The costumes of the start of the film are very casual and normal, nothing unusual it is later on in the film where Peter gets his suit once he is able to cotrol his powers. The props in this opening sequences are not that unordinary but in the science department there are many pieces of equipment that are high tech like the electronic microscope which is the biggest in the south accroding to the film, the main prop in the science department sequence though is probabaly Peteres camera as that is how he gets bitten and also shows us he likes photography which he then goes on to be a photographer in the sequels.
